Ken Titmus

Ken Titmus has honed his skills over the past 34 years while working with Terry Warburton, where he learned all aspects of mouthpiece making, and in 2004 was named Vice President of Warburton Music Products. While there he was responsible for many innovations and is the inventor of the P.E.T.E. embouchure exerciser, used by over 60,000 brass players worldwide, and the GAPCHEK diagnostic gap measuring tool. He has also designed several products including the ATV line of visualizers, SpeakEasy inline weights, and the popular backbores New York, Q, H, TJ and PT.

Over the years he has worked one-on-one with hundreds of brass players and has become adept at diagnosing mouthpiece related problems. He is also an active trumpet player, aware of musicians’ needs in the real world. Nothing pleases him more than to assist his fellow brass players improve their game. 

Ken Titmus started KT Custom Mouthpiece shop in 2021 in Orlando, Florida. In 2025 he relocated the shop to Jackson, Michigan where Ken currently creates custom mouthpieces and does custom work like alterations to rims, cups and backbores, plug and re-drill/bore reduction, cut and thread, silver plating, re-shank…. Ken is an Authorized Warburton Dealer and has trumpet, cornet, flugelhorn and trombone mouthpieces for brass players to try in the shop.
